About Me
Matt Keegan, Freelance Writer
Trust me, if you use me to do your copywriting, I will spend much more time on writing unique, compelling, and persuasive text!
I am a lot less formal then I may seem, as I prefer to be known as Matt Keegan instead of by my published/legal name. However, my business entity is registered with the State of North Carolina as Matthew C Keegan, LLC simply because I wasn't clever enough way back in 2002 to think of a catchy name. Trust me, if you use me to do your copywriting, I will spend much more time on writing unique, compelling, and persuasive text!
After working my way through college from the late 1970s to mid-1980s, in May 1985 I was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ramapo College of New Jersey. My course concentration was Labor Relations.
From the mid-1980s to the early 1990s, I managed a restaurant followed by a nonprofit organization. In 1992 I began employment as a technical writer for a business aviation company and continued in this role through most of 2002. Upon being downsized from my last position as Manager, Technical Writing Services I launched my current business while residing in the State of New Jersey. Today, I provide a variety of writing-centered services from my home near Raleigh.
Business Philosophy
Don't you just hate it when a company no longer lives by their business philosophy? I guess the United States Post Office is one such business that comes to mind -- I don't think anyone expects them to deliver mail during the "gloom of night."
I have a saying -- nothing profound -- but you may find it to be of significance to you: your success is my business. I don't believe that you should expect anything less from me: whatever I do for you should be something that enhances your business. For example, I cannot guarantee that your press release will make it into the newspapers, but I will say that on its own merits it'll be a release you can be proud of.
I am selective who I work with as it is imperative for me that we have a workable relationship. If I don't believe that I can deliver a winning product, then I'll refuse the job.
On the other hand, there are times when I can develop a winning project where you might think it otherwise impossible. I bring with me a fresh set of eyes and years of experience to take a look at your business and come up with a plan that you may not have previously considered. After all, you may not be aware of some of the recent changes related to the world of writing (or internet), areas that that I am very familiar with.
